Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA)
Trusted Connectivity Alliance (formerly SIMalliance) exists to facilitate the growth of connected objects by supporting the standardisation of SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) technology which enables secure mobile connectivity. The end result is protection for service providers assets, device data and end user privacy. The organisation enables collaboration among all those who engage within the global SIM ecosystem. While this ecosystem was previously the domain of SIM vendors and mobile network operators (MNOs), the growth of the internet of things (IoT) in recent years has created new use cases for SIM technology beyond authenticated access to mobile networks. SIM solutions are now being considered and deployed in many connected industries where security is paramount, such as connected cars, wearables, smart utilities, industry 4.0 and healthcare. They also have a key part to play in delivering security within 5G networks.
