The mission of the Institute for Cybersecurity and Privacy (ICSP) is to contribute to meeting the nation's cybersecurity defense research and education needs. The goal of ICSP is to become a state hub for cybersecurity research and education, including multidisciplinary programs and research opportunities, outreach activities, and industry partnership.

he National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security named the UGA Institute for Cybersecurity and Privacy a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, an honor that recognizes the strength of the institute's cybersecurity and privacy research program, faculty and students.

The designation, comes under a federal program to reduce the vulunerability of national information infrastructure by strengthening higher education and research in Cybersecurity.
