Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV)

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz - BfV) is the domestic intelligence services of the federal government of Germany. By collecting and evaluating information on extremist and terrorist tendencies as well as the activities of foreign intelligence services (including cyber), it conducts important preliminary reconnaissance. This is essential for the protection of the free democratic basic order and thus of all people living in Germany. Cyber Defense
Cyber attacks by foreign intelligence services pose a threat to German politics, business, science and critical infrastructures. The cyber defense of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has the task of recognizing such cyberattacks, assigning them to a state actor and sensitizing endangered authorities.
