Major US Mobile Network Failure

The United States faced a cellular outage on Thursday with thousands reporting connectivity issues. AT&T, T Mobile, Verizon and other network users faced mobile phone glitches with a vast majority unable to get signal.

These interruptions are affecting US mobile services and this has been reported on Thursday 22nd February across the US. Downdetector, which tracks outages, showed thousands of reports made by users of multiple networks after 04:00 EST.

The reports for AT&T exceeded 58,000, with hotspots in the southern and eastern US, reports Downdetector.  Users say their phones are displaying the SOS message, leaving them unable to make calls or access services.

Cause Unknown

Customers with T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, UScellular and Consumer Cellular are also reporting issues. Downdetector's heatmap shows major population centres including te cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Atlanta are amongst those facing the highest number of outages.

The national 911 emergency service was unavailable in some areas, and healthcare organisations were advising those with medical or life-threatening emergencies to contact them directoy using alternative means, such as social media.
