Leading the Way in Cyber Security Skills
The cyber security industry is suffering from a serious shortage of skilled professionals, calculated to be in excess of 4 million worlwide in 2020 with a 1.8 shortfall in the US alone, prompting a major effort on the part of leading US technology businesses to invest heavily in skills training
Now the identification verification firm Veriff has analysed the global cyber security workforce to reveal the top 10 leading nations, as well as the companies leading in recruitment and the most in-demand cyber security job roles.

The United States has the biggest cyber security workforce in the world at 879,000, followed by Brazil, Mexico and the UK

- 70% of the top 10 cyber security companies leading the way in recruitment are based in the United States, 20% are UK-based
- Learning skills in software is a great way to get into a cybersecurity job, with 30% of the department’s top jobs being software-based.
