Israel’s Emergency Medical Service Attacked
There has been a cyber attack on the computer systems of Bikur Rofeh, Israel’s leading private primary emergency medical services clinic, Israel’s Health Ministry said on March 6th.
The attack is suspected to have been launched from Iran and Bikur Rofeh’s cyber security teams are investigating the incident and assessing whether any data breach has occurred and its potential scope.
Israel’s Health Ministry and the National Cyber Security Authority are investigating the full extent of the incident and whether any sensitive information was leaked during the cyberattack, but all relevant authorities are preparing for any scenario.
The Iranian cyber threat to Israel is long-standing and extends to the United States and Saudi Arabia, its two other primary adversaries, and, along with Israel, are the focus of most of its offensive cyber operations. However, Iranian hackers have also been active targeting aerospace, defence, and aviation industries in the UAE, Turkey, India, and Albania, according to Israeli reports.
