Dark Web Drug Dealers Jailed
Two drug dealers who created almost a £4 million dark web drugs operation got so many clients that they used an automated “bot” to get business. In over two years, the subjects were paid more than $4.8 million (around 3.5 million in pounds sterling) for selling “huge amounts” of illicit substances, such as cocaine, heroin, LSD, and others.
Their operations were conducted in the dark web via social media as “TheOnlyLw” and “LetsWork”, the report claims. The drug dealers sold South American cocaine on the Dark Web were paid in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
Jehanzeb Amar and Salahydin Warsame have now been jailed for a total of 24 years and were part of an organised crime network suppling cocaine, ecstasy and LSD across the UK. But they were busted by undercover police who also recovered heroin, thousands of LSD tablets and £30,000 in cash. Amar was said to be the ringleader of the racket while Warsame took on the risk of delivering the drugs to the Post Office.
Scotland Yard found out about an online social media site called “LetsWork” advertising Class A drugs in February 2020. Cocaine could be bought in quantities ranging from one gram to a kilo, a court heard.The app they used had more than 1,000 subscribers and payments were requested via crypto-currencies.
The drugs were spread across UK territory via the public service of the Post Office and were allegedly brought to that country from Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, and other destinations, the substances were referred to as “New Boly” in social media. The subjects were captured by an undercover operation enforce by the local police.
